A paraprosdokian is a sentence with an unexpected ending that makes you think twice and revisit the beginning of the sentence.
“I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.”
(I know. Grammatically incorrect. But it just doesn’t work saying “as” instead of “like,” does it?)
